Blood test.
A blood test is a laboratory analysis performed on a blood sample that is usually extracted from a vein in the arm using a needle, or via finger prick. Multiple tests for specific blood components (such as a glucose test or a cholesterol test) are often grouped together into one test panel called a blood panel or blood work.

What preparation do I need to do?
The healthcare professional who arranges your blood test will tell you whether there are any specific instructions you need to follow before your test.

-Don’t eat for 10 hours before the test.

-Stop taking a certain medication

Steps to keep

  • First, have the materials ready
  • Second, A tight band (tourniquet) is usually put around your upper arm. This squeezes the arm, temporarily slowing down the flow of blood and causing the vein to swell. This makes it easier for a sample to be taken.
  • Third, the doctor or nurse may clean the area of skin with an antiseptic wipe.
  •  Fourth, A needle attached to a syringe or special container is inserted into the vein. The syringe is used to draw out a sample of your blood.
When the sample has been taken, the needle will be removed. Pressure is applied to the skin for a few minutes using a cotton-wool pad.

What can I expect after of a blood test?
In the blood test we can measure glycemia levels, cholesterol levels, leucocyes levels to determine infections. Blood tests have benefits that go far beyond disease prevention. For example, by monitoring levels of sex hormones, you can take decisive steps to enhance your quality of life, perhaps by correcting a depressive mental state, erectile dysfunction, abdominal obesity, or by improving your memory and energy levels.

After the test.
some people feel dizzy and faint during and after the test. If this has happened to you in the past, tell the person carrying out the test so they’re aware and can help you feel more comfortable.
